Glenn Longley, of Bonne Terre, Mo., was born on Wednesday, June 28, 1933, in Aledo, a son of the late Lillian Bernice Gould and Robert Dale Longley. Glenn departed this life on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at his residence having reached the age of 79 years, eight months and three days.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Mo. Final prayers and burial took place in the Hopewell Cemetery, Mineral Point, Mo., where Glenn received full military honors.
Glenn served in the United States Navy and retired with 20 plus years of service. He had a well-drilling business for many years. Glenn was a member of the Fleet Reserve and the VFW. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Glenn is survived by wife, Edith (Benson) Longley, Bonne Terre; one stepson, Ken Schnitker, Pacific, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Scull and husband, Bill, and Virginia Altemeier, all of the Quad-Cities; onebrother, Harry Longley, Durant; and one stepgrandchild, Lily Schnitker; also surviving are nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; one son, Bobby Longley; and one brother, Freddie Longley.
