Throwing Clinic to prevent arm injuries March 16

DAVENPORT -- Genesis Physical Rehabilitation, ORA Sports Medicine and the Scott County Family Y will host a throwing clinic Saturday, March 16 to help identify the signs and symptoms of throwing problems and discuss what to do about those injuries.
Jessica Ellis, M.D., of ORA Orthopedics and Karl Stratman, Genesis physical therapist, will present the free throwing clinic from 8-9 a.m. at the new Genesis Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Clinic at the corner of 53rd St. and Eastern Ave., Davenport.
Dr. Ellis completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship in South Bend, Ind., and was the assistant team physician at the University of Notre Dame. She is currently the team physician for the Davenport Community School District and for St. Ambrose University.
Karl Stratman is a Genesis physical therapist who has practiced in orthopedics for the past 15 years and specializes in treating shoulders.
The event is intended for parents, coaches and players (ages 6-16).
