Frances A. VanOverberg, 91, of Moline, formerly of Cambridge, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center of Moline.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. The Rev. Greg Michel will officiate. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Beacon of Hope Hospice.
Frances Hageman was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Warren, Minn., the daughter of Emil and Henrietta Talbot Hageman. She was raised on a farm in Stephen, Minn., and attended Stephen schools. Frances married and moved to Illinois. She lived most of her life in Cambridge and the Quad-Cities. She worked for many years as a cook at Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo. Frances loved to read, and she would write LOTS of letters to friends and family.
Those surviving are a daughter, Jeanne Randolph, East Moline; sons, Dick (Sally) Jones, Mesa, Ariz., Dave Jones, Moline, John (Julie) VanOverberg, Colona, and Bob (Debi) Cowan, Maple Grove, Minn.; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Other survivors include sisters, Marlys Benson, Hermantown, Minn., and Jean Laudal, Grand Forks, N.D. Her parents; a daughter, Linda; brothers; and sisters preceded her in death.
