Charles D. "Charlie" "Chuck" Curtis, 82, Pueblo, Colo., was born Oct. 10, 1930, to the union of John and Lela Gilreath Curtis, and went to be with the Lord, Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
The funeral service was Monday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at George McCarthy Historic Chapel, Pueblo.
Interment is 2 p.m. today at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made at georgemccarthyfuneralhome.com.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for John Deere as a senior designer, from which he retired after 36 years of service. Charles was a devoted member of Jefferson Community Church, where he held the position of Elder. He was well known for his woodworking and was an accomplished cartoonist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John R. Curtis Jr.; and sister, Jewell Adams. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maggie; children, Cyndy (Guy) Ealy and John (Carol) Curtis; grandchildren, Jessyca, Alexis and Neal (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Jayden, Janaya and John; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and special friends, Edward (Nancy) Freebern.
