Police say two men who broke into a Moline apartment on Jan. 17 threatened residents and bound two of them with duct tape before fleeing with money and other valuables.
Trai T. Anderson, 18, of 620 West 63rd St., Davenport, and Devon A. McConnell, 27, of Moline, each face two Class X felony counts of home invasion in Rock Island County Circuit Court.
Mr. Anderson was arrested Feb. 13 and was held Tuesday in the Rock Island County Jail on a $250,000 bond; Mr. McConnell remains at large.
The two are believed to have planned the break-in for several days before entering the apartment in the 3800 block of 25th Street, said Moline Detective Scott Williams.
He said the two men are accused of threatening four residents inside, holding a knife to one person's throat and hitting another individual in the head with a gun.
The men then allegedly restrained two of the residents using duct tape and forced them to the floor before stealing money and possessions from the residence, Detective Williams said.
Mr. Anderson appeared briefly in court Tuesday and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. His next scheduled court appearance is a March 28 pretrial conference.
If convicted of the Class X felonies, the men could face an extended prison term between 21 and 45 years.
