I have learned it is good to be a continuous loyal customer with your cable, telephone, internet, television provider or other contractor.
There are discounts you can take advantage of to offset the rising cost of all these amenities. No, you don't have to be any certain age to qualify, only a subscriber in good standing for a continuous long period of time.
Recently, I was checking on eliminating my telephone landline due to the fact that I seldom use it. Calling the service agent and reviewing my service, I found that the package I have had for several years had changed and the cost was considerably lower. Then, talking about canceling my service completely, he offered me a worthwhile discount for being a loyal continuous costumer and my monthly billing was reduced every month for the next year.
Not only that, the change meant that after the year is over, I am still saving in excess of 34 percent monthly. This had absolutely nothing to do with my being a senior citizen.
I also suggest you contact your cable supplier to see if it will negotiate. All this is just a phone call away.
Seniors, are you taking advantage of your Senior Homestead Exemption, and your Senior Freeze Exemption if you qualify under the governing regulations? Contacting your county supervisor of assessments just might be to your advantage for years to come.
I find it comforting these service and subscription businesses are willing to negotiate charges and prices on your contract for being a loyal continuous customer.
