Presidents Day alters several area schedules

The Presidents Day holiday will have varying effects on local units of government.
Illinois driver's offices in the Quad-Cities area will be closed Saturday; those scheduled to be open Monday will be closed that day.
While Rock Island city officeswill remain open and refuse/recycling collections will not be altered by the holiday, Black Hawk College will close its facilities Monday and reopen on Tuesday.
Other schedule changes include:
In Moline, city offices will be closed. Garbage and recycling collections will be on the regular schedule all week.
In Colona,theHenry and Stark County Health Department at 103 1st St. will be closed Monday, with limited home health and homemaker staff providing necessary in-home care. The department's office south of Kewanee also will be closed Monday.
In Scott County, all Waste Commission facilities will be closed Monday and will resume normal operation hours on Tuesday.
In Davenport, all city offices will be closed, as will all library branches and the compost facility. Garbage, recycling and bulky waste will be picked up one day later all week, with Friday collections on Saturday.
Regular week-day CitiBus service will be provided.River's Edge will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with public skating 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Vander Veer Conservatory will be closed and timed parking will not be enforced. There also will be no charge to park at the Redstone parking ramp, 101 Main St., or the Harrison Street parking ramp at 202 Harrison St.
TheAdler Theatre box office will be open, and the RiverCenter parking ramp at 102 E. 2nd St. will offerevent parking 5:30-11 p.m. for "West Side Story" at the Adler.
