There are 320 days left in the year. 1863 -- 150 years ago: "Old Bigelow," of Cordova, the noted counterfeiter, after twoyears in a Chicago jail, has been convicted in the United States District Court. 1888 -- 125 years ago: Rock Island for the third straight day has experiencedtemperatures of -10 degrees. 1913 -- 100 years ago: Arthur Salzmann, of Rock Island, rolled a score of 563 last night inthe Friday evening bowling league, the highest in the league this season. 1938 -- 75 years ago: A strange four-footed beast is prowling at large in Moline, and ahost of strange reports are perplexing police and residents of the area. 1963 -- 50 years ago: The mercury will plunge to -10 in the Quad-Cities areatonight, but it probably won't seem any colder than last night and most of today. 1988 -- 25 years ago: Registration is now open for the 10th annual Children's LiteratureFestival, set for April 21 at Wharton Field House in Moline.
