A trio of All-Metro performers from Alleman have made their college choices and committed to play for those schools next fall.

Softball players Chasney Jenkins (Kirkwood JUCO) and Lexy VandeMoortel (Muscatine JUCO) are joined by soccer goalie Fernando Rios (Division III Augustana) .

Jenkins earned Team MVP and All-Western Big 6 Conference honors last season while leading the league with a .549 batting average. The first team All-Metro pick by The Dispatch and The Rock Island Argus also drove in 34 runs and scored 43 more.

Jenkins also was an all-tournament pick during the ASA Heartland Havoc 95's USSSA state championship run.

VandeMoortel also picked up all-conference (honorable mention) and All-Metro (second team) honors for the regional finalists last season.

Rios' club also reached a regional championship game. The third-year starter was an honorable mention All-Metro pick last fall by this newspaper.
