Annawan, Geneseo men face marijuana charges

CAMBRIDGE -- Two Henry County men have been arrested and charged with cannabis-related felonies.
Matthew DeDecker, 21, of Annawan, and Jacob Mendoza, 22, of Geneseo, were arrested Tuesday and charged with Class 1 felony unlawful delivery of between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis and Class 2 felony unlawful possession of cannabis.
Preliminary hearings have been set for Feb. 25. Mr. DeDecker said he is hiring private counsel. Mr. Mendoza was found indigent, and public defender James Cosby was appointed to defend him.
The two were being held in the Henry County jail Wednesday afernoon. Mr. Mendoz's bond was set at $50,000 and Mr. DeDecker's at $35,000.
