Regina "Jeanie" Hills Waggoner, 59, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at ManorCare, Davenport, following a two-plus-year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Following the services Saturday, there will be a luncheon at the Friends Circle Club Moline. Private interment will take place at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
She was born to Harold and Willidean King Hills on Nov. 26, 1953. Regina graduated from Rock Island High School in 1972.Regina married Jim Waggoner in 1977.
She trained for a health care profession and became a physical therapy assistant for many years.
She worked at Oak Glen Nursing Home, Davenport Medical Center, ManorCare Nursing Home and retired from Midwest Therapy, Davenport, in 2012. Regina really loved her career of helping others.
Regina loved fishing, outdoor activities and her pets along with any animals.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Kyle Waggoner; grandchildren, Ariel, Gwendelyn and Kyle; great-granddaughter, Cora; her soulmate of 16 years, fiance, John Winterbottom; and good friend, Karen Berg, whom she considered lucky to have known for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Johnny Ray Hills and Albert Joey Hills.
