1913 -- 100 years ago: The payroll record at the Silvis shops of the Rock Island Lineswas broken today as $90,000 was distributed to 1,340 men for January wages.
1938 -- 75 years ago: The city has 2,000 more autos now than in 1925, according to thecurrent wheel tax list.
