CARBON CLIFF — Mayor Ken Williams told the village board Tuesday that underground piping for the water main extension from Silvis has beencompleted to south of the train tracks crossing 1st Avenue.
When completed, the extension will more efficiently make water available to homeowners of the area, officials said.
In other business, the Public Properties Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the village hall, and likely decide when to do a drive-around to inspect village roads for damage.Roads of concern are Mansur Lane and North 1st Avenue.
Village trustees agreed it would be ideal to have an inspection done in March or April so any needed repairs could be scheduled.
Mayor Williams said it would be better to repair damaged roads before they deteriorate further, which would cost the village more money to fix.
The next village board meeting will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at the village hall.
