Why watch: The Pioneers are attempting to win their fourth consecutive game in this series. "We've got to be ready," Moline coach Jeff Schimmel said. "I consider us the underdog — we lost to them (44-39) the first time. We have to show that we can beat those guys." Alleman coach Pat Rangel has never lost to the Maroons in his tenure. "We're going in there trying to win a game," Rangel said. ... Moline has won 12 of its last 15 games, but has yet to win a Western Big 6 Conference game at Wharton Field House. The Maroons have lost both league home games. ... The Pioneers have lost five consecutive games, failing to reach the 50-point mark in any of them. ... Alleman once again will be without senior guard Dan Cutkomp (foot) and senior forward John Tracey (season-ending leg injury). Tracey had surgery on Thursday. ... Moline junior forward Brandon Vice is shooting 57.4 percent (27 of 47) in Big 6 play.
Alleman coach Pat Rangel: "Moline obviously is a different team than when we played them earlier in the season. We're most definitely a different team. Tonight will be an opportunity to settle our differences."
Moline coach Jeff Schimmel: "Anytime you play Alleman, you're going to get a high level of effort. We have to match their effort."
