Quad City Symphony Orchestra hosts second annual Valentine's Gala
The Quad Cities can enjoy an evening full of music, food, and romance at the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's second annual Valentine's Gala. The Valentine's Day Gala will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, at the Hotel Blackhawk, 200 E. 3rd St., Davenport, Iowa.
Guests can enjoy hosted beer and wine, delicious appetizers, and the opening of the silent auction before dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., the festivities move to the nearby Adler Theatre for the Valentine's Day concert. The Quad City Symphony Orchestra will perform symphonic dances from Bernstein and Tchaikovsky and swing-era favorites featuring performers from Five by Design.
"From the moment the guests arrive for dinner, through the hip post-party and high-end silent auction, they will experience firsthand the vibrancy, excitement, and energy that exemplifies everything we do. Patrons attending will be supporting the free yet first-in-class music education and outreach we provide to our communities," said Brian Burke, Gala Chair and Volunteers for Symphony President. "We have a lot of fun and all for a more than worthwhile cause." Proceeds from the event will go to support Quad City Symphony Orchestra and its mission to maintain symphonic music of the highest artistic quality and provide music education to the community.
After the concert at the Adler, guests can return to the Hotel Blackhawk to continue the celebration. "My primary goal as event chair is to present a memorable, classy, and fun experience," said Burke. The post-party will include more music from Five by Design for dancing while guests can enjoy desserts and participate in the silent action. Items up for auction include an all expense paid 3-night stay in New York with tickets to Broadway shows, a 3-night stay in Napa Valley Wine Country, an authentic Italian dinner for 10 prepared by QCSO Music Director and Conductor Mark Russell Smith, a weekend getaway to Galena in a car from Ron's Toy Box, and a stunning piece of jewelry from Necker's Jewelers.
