Davenport man charged with weapon counts after gun discharged at Q.C. Mart

A Davenport man is charged with felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and reckless conduct after a loaded pistol he allegedly carried into the Q.C. Mart, Milan, discharged.

Robert J. Rhodenbaugh, 56, of 501 W. 31st St., No. 604, made an initial appearance on Monday in Rock Island County Circuit Court and remained in Rock Island County Jail that evening on a $20,000 bond.

Rock Island County Sheriff Jeff Boyd said at least one other person was in the store, near Route 67 and 106th Avenue West, when the gun discharged a bullet shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday.No one was reported injured, and police collected the weapon as evidence.

On Monday, the sheriff was unaware of any damage to the store.
