Vahalia "Vee" Olvera, 456 15th Ave., East Moline, will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at her home. No gifts, please.
She was employed at Short Hills Country Club, East Moline. Vee created the "Short Hills" and "Vee" salads during her 47 year employment there. She previously was employed at The Hitching Post, Moline, for 2 1/2 years.
