Wife of man killed in Jan. 14 collision near Orion also dies

A second person has died because of a collision between a sport-utility vehicle and a tractor-trailer earlier this month.
The Jan. 14 collision on Illinois 150 south of Orion killedMelvin L. Landuyt, 74, of rural Lynn Center, Henry County Coroner David A. Johnson said at the time.Mr. Landuyt was pulling his SUV out of a driveway when it was struck by the tractor-trailer, Mr. Johnson said.
At the time, Mr. Johnson also said a female passenger in the SUV was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
On Wednesday, Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll confirmed the death Connie S. Landuyt, 73 -- Mr. Landuyt's wife -- Tuesday at OSF Saint Francis from injuries she sustained in the collision.
The Henry County Sheriff's office, which is investigating the crash, could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
