Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament
Mercer County 49, West Prairie 39: Kristen Heath's game-high 17 points provided the spark the Golden Eagles needed in their Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament victory at Aledo. Bridget Anderson and Michaela Baker each added 13 points for Mercer County (6-17), which led 28-15 at halftime. The Golden Eagles meet ROWVA in the consolation semifinals tonight at 7:30 p.m. at United.
Galva 38, United 28: The Wildcats moved into the LTC consolation semifinals with the double-digit home win. Alex Strom paced Galva with a game-high 15 points, with seven coming in the second quarter. The Wildcats meet Ridgewood at United tonight at 6.
ROWVA 57, Princeville 42: Haylee Swanson tallied 21 points to push the Tigers into the consolation semifinals.
Sherrard wins twice: The Sherrard Tigers secured victories over West Carroll (37-36) and Sterling Newman (49-27) at the West Carroll Triangular. Jacob Hast (120 pounds) and Sam Ryner (132/138) picked up two non-forfeit victories. Hunter Spengler (106), Chance Teel (113), Zach Gustafson (170), Sam Congdon (182), Jon Stoops (195) and Ben Corlett (285) also had two wins.
Prep girls' bowling
Rock Island 2485, Abingdon 2153: Rocky freshman Samantha Roberge continued her hot streak, leading the team with a 581, after having a career-high 610 against Moline the night before, Roberge had a single-game high of 210. Rock Island's Assia Filali finished with a 543 series.
QC college women basketball
Augustana 69, Millikin 55: Molly Etheridge scored a season-high 27 points, Gianna Pecora added 19 and Amy Hicks 10 as those three starters totalled 56 points to outscore the hosting Big Blue on their own. Pecora hit four 3-pointers and Etheridge nailed three treys as Augie (6-9, 2-3 CCIW) won for just the second time on the road this season. Millikin (5-10, 0-5 CCIW), led by Jasmine Johnson's 13 points, shot just 29-percent from the field for the game.
