Black Hawk College hosting cattle-fitting clinic Feb. 2-3

GALVA, Ill. – Black Hawk College East Campus will host a two-day cattle-fitting clinic Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 2-3.



The clinic, sponsored by Stock Show University, will provide the standard one professor to every 10 students for optimal instruction. Participants will be grouped by experience. All interested individuals age eight and older -- from beginners to advanced -- are welcome. For the advanced fitters, there will be a special advanced group with this clinic.



The clinic is free. Pre-registration is recommended. Go to www.sullivansupply.com and select the "Clinic Schedule" tab. The two-day printable schedule is also found here.



Saturday morning will feature a clipping demonstration giving participants the opportunity to learn current industry trends. Following lunch, clipping techniques will be discussed and practiced. Dinner will be followed by an question-and-answer session.



A fitting demo will be Sunday morning. After the provided lunch, there will be a clipping/fitting session followed by animal selection/judging. The day will culminate in awards presentations and conclusion.



Premier cattle fitter professors will include John Sullivan, Josh Elder, Dave Guyer, Zach Gray and Jason Minnaert.



For an optimal learning experience, it is recommended participants bring the following:



· Calf, chute, blower, clippers

· Show box with products

· Generator and extension cords

· Anything else you would need for show day preparation



Cattle will tie out in the trailers. Make sure to bring extra bedding.



A Champion Show Supply trailer will be on site.
