EM man charged with battery counts for allegedly fracturing woman's ribs

An East Moline man who allegedly fractured a woman's ribs made an initial appearance on Tuesday in Rock Island County Circuit Court and was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery.

Ar Min, 38, of 1526 8th Ave., who also faces a misdemeanor count of unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence,remained in Rock Island County Jail on Tuesday on a $50,000 bond.

According to court records, Mr. Min allegedly beat the woman on Monday. He also is accused of stopping her from calling 911 for help.

If Mr. Min is released from jail, he has been ordered to have no contact with the woman. He is scheduled for a Jan. 22 preliminary hearing.
