A contract worker for MidAmerican Energy was shocked shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, while working on a power line in Silvis. MidAmerican spokesman Tim Grabinski said the worker did not come into direct contract with the wire and was "at the hospital getting checked out." No other information was available late Thursday.

A contract worker for MidAmerican Energy was shocked shortly before 8:30 a.m. today while working on a power line in Silvis. MidAmerican spokesman Tim Grabinski said the worker did not come into direct contract with the wire and was ''at the hospital getting checked out.'' About 2,000 people initially were without power because of the accident, but all but 33 were back online by 10:15 a.m. No other information was available by 10:15 a.m.
