Dale O. Karenke, 78, of Lynn Center, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his home.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha. Burial is at Cable Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of service. He was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Eagle River, Wis., to Lyle and Pearl Phorm Karenke. He graduated from Eagle River High School and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He married Sharon Snyder on March 30, 1963, in Colona.
Dale was employed at John Deere Plow and Planter in Moline for 30 years, retiring Jan. 30, 1992.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of the UAW and enjoyed watching "Love Worth Finding" on Sunday mornings. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Rebecca (Kenneth) Fuller, Lynn Center; three grandsons, James (Amy) Fuller, Moline, Jeremiah (Barbie) Fuller, Andover, and Jacob Fuller, Lynn Center; three great-grandchildren, Kaine, Brianna and Keegan; three sisters, Gladys Adamovich, Joyce Ingram, Marion Adamovich, all of Eagle River; one brother, Clyde Karenke, Eagle River; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Snyder, East Moline; a brother-in-law, Marion Snyder, Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. His parents; one sister; and three brothers preceded him in death.
