Citizens of Davenport invited to Casino Developer/Operator interviews

Mayor Bill Gluba, members of the Davenport City Council, the Davenport Community Improvement Corporation, Riverboat Development Authority, and others will host a public interview process for Casino Developers/Operators on Monday, January 7, 2013, at the River Music Experience, 129 Main Street.

Citizens are invited to attend the public meeting which will get underway at 9AM. Citizens will have an opportunity to submit written questions.

Ingenus representatives will kick off Monday's proceedings at 9AM with the first presentation; followed by Restoration St. Louis at 11:30AM and Atrium Holdings at 1:45PM. Each developer/operator will have thirty (30) minutes for a presentation followed by a question and answer period with the interview panel for up to one hour. Following questions from the interview panel, questions from the public will be permitted, as written on index cards and asked by the interview facilitator. Each interview session will conclude with closing remarks from the casino developer/operator.

The media is invited to attend the presentations. In an effort to keep the presentations on schedule and not provide distractions, media recording of the presentations will be permitted, however the media are asked not to move around or disrupt the presentations and question and answer periods. The developers/operators will be available, at their convenience and discretion, for recorded, media interviews outside the interview process or at the conclusion of their presentation.

On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, City of Davenport representatives, the Davenport Community Improvement Corporation and Riverboat Development Authority will travel to Dubuque, IA where City of Dubuque and Dubuque Racing Association officials will provide an overview of community owned gaming in Dubuque and how it has worked for their community. Tours of both the Diamond Jo and Mystique casinos will be given. The media is invited to join the tour. The tour bus will leave Davenport Public Works, 1200 E 46th Street, at 2:45PM and arrive in Dubuque at 4:00. It's expected that the tour group will return to Davenport at 8:30PM.
