A Davenport man and his passenger were hospitalized Friday after a roll-over accident on Interstate 80 shortly before 1 p.m.

Kendrick Maid, 40, of Davenport, andJustine Miller, 23, address unknown, were transported to Genesis East with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Davenport police said. Mr. Maid was discharged shortly before 4 p.m., but Ms. Miller remained in the hospital Friday evening, according to Genesis representatives.

Police said Mr. Maid drove a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer north onto the Highway 61 ramp, merging onto eastbound I-80 and his vehicle drifted into a south ditch. When Mr. Maid tried to maneuver the vehicle out of the ditch, it slipped and rolled over onto the interstate, police said.

The Trailblazer came to rest on all four wheels in the center median, police said.
