All in the Bach family at next chamber concert

Chamber Music Quad Cities begins its 20th anniversary year with a Bach Family concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, 3707 Eastern Ave., Davenport. Music by Johann Sebastian Bach and sons Wilhelm Friedemann and Carl Philipp Emanuel will be presented.

The artistic director of Chamber Music Quad Cities is violinist and Moline native David Bowlin. He will be joined by pianist Spencer Myer, cellist Katinka Kleijn and flutist Conor Nelson.

Mr. Myer was gold medalist of the 2008 New Orleans Piano Competition and First Prizewinner of the 2004 UNISA competition in South Africa. He has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and Southeast Iowa Symphony, among many others.

Ms. Kleijn is a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Nelson has appeared as soloist with the Toronto and Minnesota Orchestras, and is currently assistant professor of music at Bowling Green State University.

Mr. Bowlin, a Moline native, is assistant professor of violin at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and performs across the U.S. and abroad as a chamber musician and soloist.
