That's our wish today for both contributorsto and beneficiaries of The Argus Santa Claus Fund. The fund this morning made its54th consecutive annual distribution of gifts to hundreds of unfortunate children in ourcommunity, and there were smiles all around. 1987 — 25 years ago: The Rock Island Police burglary task force struck gold during thelast two weeks. Working with Moline and Milan police, Rock Island investigators solvedat least seven burglaries, arrested five adults and six juveniles, and recovered more than$6,500 in stolen goods. "The message should be sent out that we do arrest people thatbuy the stolen property," Mr. Melton said.
