Rockridge's Ethan Happ goes up for a short jumper as Kewanee's Dalton Nuding defends during the first half of their game Friday evening at the Orion Tip-Off Classic.
Rockridge junior forward Ethan Happ will miss 2-4 weeks with a medial collateral ligament injury in his left knee. The slight MCL tear was confirmed on Wednesday via a magnetic resonance imaging.

"It's a little upsetting of course," Happ said. "I'm going to have to take time for it to heal properly."

Happ sustained the injury during a 57-30 win at Princeton on Friday night. The Wisconsin commit did not play in Tuesday's home win over Stark County. Happ said "everything's still intact" with Wisconsin his verbal commitment and scholarship offer.

"I told (the Wisconsin coaching staff) it was a slight MCL tear," Happ said. "They want me to take my time."

The injury will keep Happ out of next week's Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament. The Rockets, off to their first 9-0 start in program history, are the No. 1 seed in the 16-team tournament.

Rest and rehabilition will repair the injury, so Happ said surgery is not needed. Happ said he's hoping the recovery will be on the shorter side given by the doctors.

"The main thing is to get healthy by the postseason," Happ said.
