Letter: Schwiebert doesn’t follow fair and balanced approach
Comment on this story
It is indeed unfortunate that on the day of remembrance of another attack on our great country, the attack on Pearl Harbor, some people continue to attack the other side.
The column by Mark Schwiebert was intended to discuss how the recent Supreme Court Citizens United ruling has adversely effected our election process. What he really showed was how some people cannot seem to pass up the opportunity to slam the opposition, whoever it may be.
There is no way anybody could address this issue without bringing up the name George Soros! Yet, Mr Schwiebert saw fit to only mention one person by name, Karl Rove. He not only mentioned him by name, but felt the need to call him "vicious".
Right-left, conservative-liberal or Democrat -Republican, there are enough questions to go around many times in this debate. It is a shame that the writer felt he had to resort to name calling to try to get his point access.
Free speech is free speech, however, when you enjoy being a featured writer for the local newspaper, perhaps one should try his best to show that he is not biased. Maybe he is already starting the next campaign for office?
If Mr. Schwiebert wants to be taken seriously, he should treat ALL issues equally! Ever hear of the saying "fair and balanced," Mr. Schwiebert?
