Funeral services for Gracie King Kelly, 76, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport, with Pastor Rogers Kirk officiating.
She departed this life on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.
Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with additional visitation one hour prior to services on Thursday. Orr's Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Abbeville, Miss., the daughter of Grandison and Espie Herod Mathis. She married Robert Kelly in November 1965 in Davenport.
She was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed at Marycrest College as a professional cook. She retired in 1996.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Barbara Haddox, St. Louis, Mo., Doris Dabo, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Linda Shannon, Davenport; sons, Royal Kelly, Davenport; stepson, Jessie Brown, Chicago; sisters, Emma Dennis, Cassie Washington, Maggie Jones and Fairsteen (Tina) Thomas, St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and four brothers.
