Massachusetts couple arrested on pot charges

CAMBRIDGE -- A couple from Massachusetts was arrested in Henry County Thursday on cannabis-related charges.

Aysha Panet, 25, of Somerville, and Nelson Panet, 27 of East Falmouth, are both charged with Class X felony cannabis trafficking, Class X felony possession with intent to deliver and Class 1 felony possession of cannabis. Charges were filed Thursday.

Bail for each was set at $150,000. Public defender James Cosby was appointed to represent Mr. Panet and Ed Woller was appointed to represent Ms. Panet. Preliminary hearings were set for Dec. 10.

According to circuit clerk files, the trafficking charge on each of them carries an enhanced penalty of 12 to 60 years in prison.
