Letter: Lawmakers must remember that we’re all Americans

Is there no end to the right-side conservative blame game for losing this election?

First it was Sandy. Second it was the Hispanics. Last it was the 47 percent.
Let me enlighten you. It was the white male squirrel-hunter who voted for Mitt Romney, and everyone else voted for Barack Obama. That's why Romney lost.

Fifty-three percent voted Democrat, and how ironic, 47 percent voted Republican. You on the right must let it go so our country doesn't go off that fiscal cliff.

Our representatives now have a chance to start working together for the greater good. Washington can be fixed. How? Simply by them getting to know each other. Take away that "us against them" mentality that stands in the way now, because it seems the party is more important than the people.

Right, left, it makes no difference. We are all Americans first, and as Americans, we stand together no matter what. Our representatives in both parties should be Americans first.

They can be a Democrat, or a Republican second. In my view there is no valid reason for going off that fiscal cliff, so you in Washington, step up to the plate, and be an American first.
