Police are looking for a Davenport man who allegedly stole a woman's purse from Trinity Medical Center, Moline, and then went on a shopping spree.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Jason Lee Tate, 35, of 810 Franklin Ave., Davenport, who faces one felony count of theft and four felony counts of unlawful use of a credit card in Rock Island County Circuit Court.

Charges stem from an Oct. 19 incident in which Mr. Tate is accused of stealing a woman's purse and then using credit cards inside it to buy a number of electronics — including two Playstation VITA's and a pair of Apple iPads — from area stores, according to records.

Mr. Tate, who was convicted of burglary in 2004 in Rock Island County Circuit Court, will be held on a $50,000 bond following his arrest, records indicate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at (309) 762-9500.
