CAMBRIDGE -- Judge Ted Hamer on Wednesday granted Morgan Blakey's motion to move his bench trial from early December to mid-February.
Mr. Blakey, 20, of Toulon, is charged in Henry County Circuit Court with Class 2 felony aggravated driving under the influence and reckless homicide in the Nov. 29, 2011 deaths of three Stark County teens near Kewanee.
Henry County State's Attorney Terry Patton said his office sent Mr. Blakey's audio-recorded statement to an expert to enhance the audio quality and just received it back and disclosed a copy of it to Mr. Blakey today.
He also said Mr. Blakey's doctor is giving him more tests in December and the delay will enable them to wait for the results.
The new trial dates are Feb. 13, 14 and 15.
Levi Berg, 16, and Kelsey Clifford, 15, both of Toulon, and Bradley Wood, Jr., 18, of Wyoming, died as a result of the accident. Mr. Blakey was driving the car. Charges were filed on March 1.
