Letter: Democrats, Bustos, Obama don’t reflect her values
Comment on this story
Voters denouncing the election and the incompetence of the Obama administration reflect strength of character, not sour grapes.
Mitt Romney won the popular vote. Southern states, Alabama for example, voted 61 percent Republican, not Democrat.
The "new face" of the electorate the Democrats are boasting is not acceptance of the Democrat Party platform but the result of increasing numbers of our brightest and hardest working taxpayers, successful small business owners and corporations fleeing the state and the Democrat machine.
The principles of the Republican Party believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each persons dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored:
-- Believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability;
-- Believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity;
-- Believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn;
-- Believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations;
-- Believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times;
-- Believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
Neither Barack Obama, nor Cheri Bustos, nor the Democrat Party reflects my values as an American, taxpayer, or woman.
