A Chicago man has been arrested in connection with a shooting early Saturday in Davenport that left two people wounded.

Ezra Javon James Jr., 20, of Chicago, was charged with attempted murder and assault willful injury causing serious injury, according to a press release.

The release states that Davenport police officers responded to 1342 W. 14th St., Davenport, at 3:47 a.m. Saturday after reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive person in the front yard with a bullet wound to the head. Another person was found inside the house with a bullet wound to the leg.

Both people were taken to a Quad-Cities hospital. The person with the head wound was then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City with life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

Their names have not been released.

The press release states that officers stopped Mr. James and another person two blocks away from where the incident occurred. A witness on scene pointed and "stated they were involved in the shooting," the press release states.

Mr. James remained in the Scott County Jail Saturday night on a $25,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing. No other information was available Saturday night.
