According to Davenport Fire Department District Chief Mike Ryan, firefighters were called to706 South Elsie St. at about 9:30 or 10 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, "we had heavy smoke showing," Chief Ryan said. He said knocking down the blaze "didn't take too long," and there were no injuries.
