A Silvis woman will serve one year of court supervision after pleading guilty Thursday to two misdemeanor counts of battery for getting into a fight involving a shovel.

Brianne M. Johnson,33, of Silvis, was charged June 29 in Rock Island County Circuit Court in connection with a June 25 brawl, during which she punched a woman in the face, according to information presented at the hearing.

She then scuffled with a man before swinging a shovel at him, which she told police was in self-defense.
