Rock Island 62, Elmhurst Timothy Christian 24:
Twelve of the 13 players who saw action scored for the Rocks, carrying them to a season-opening victory in the Aurora Illinois Math and Science Academy Tournament.

"We have a lot of things to get better at," Rocky coach Thad Hoover said, "but the kids played hard and did what we asked of them."

Shamia Clark scored a game-high 14 points for the Rocks. Carlee Hoover and Cairece Allen both added nine in the victory.

Alleman 54, Knoxville 41: Isabelle Anderson's team-high 17 points set the tone in the Pioneers' win in the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament. Anderson and Anne Bohnert, who added 15 points, made all three of Alleman's 3-pointers on the night.

The key to the Pioneers' victory was a 10-0 run that put them up 46-30 in the second half.

"We still have a lot to work on," Alleman coach Jay Hatch said.

Dunlap 63, United Township 52: The Panthers' season opener was spoiled by Dunlap's 23-12 third-quarter run in the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament. That put UT down 52-32 heading into the fourth quarter before a valliant comeback fell short.

"We played really hard," UT coach Justin Shiltz said. "Our inexperience showed in the game."

Jen VanWatermeulen scored a team-high 19 points for the Panthers, and Katie Daggett added 10.

Sherrard 64, Sterling 48: Carly Adams and Shelby Calderone each tallied 15 points in the Tigers' win over Sterling in the Sauk Valley Shootout at Musgrove Fieldhouse. The duo scored 27 of Sherrard's 49 first-half points. Riley Strandgard added 14 for Sherrard, which opened the game by hitting 14 of its first 18 shots.

Wethersfield 59, Peru St. Bede 58: The Flying Geese soared to a season-opening win in Peru on the strength of Sarah Hansen, who scored a game-high 35 points. Kristen Parsons added nine points in the victory.

Erie 57, Princeton 19: Erie did not have a player reach double-figures in its win at the Princeton Thanksgiving Tournament, but it still earned a comfortable victory. Peyton Rus had a team-high nine points, and Paige Rus and Desirae Lawson each added eight.

Elmwood 48, United 31: The Red Storm's slow start was too much to overcome in their season-opening loss in the Galva Thanksgiving Tournament. United, which received 12 points from Cassie Ellison, was outscored 38-19 in the first three quarters.

Iowa Wesleyan 59, St. Ambrose 46:
The Fighting Bees held a 22-20 halftime lead, but it slipped from their fingertips in a loss at Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Darren Galloway scored a team-high 12 points for SAU (2-2), which also received seven points from Moline product Justin Blondell.
