3 hit-and-runs reported Monday night

A Rock Island man was arrested Monday night after allegedly causing three hit-and-runs in Rock Island while intoxicated.
James Calvin Edgcomb, 47, address unknown, remained in the Rock Island County Jail on Tuesday night on a $15,000 bond pending an initial appearance in Rock Island County Circuit Court. He is expected to be charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic violations.
A public incident report indicates hit-and-runs occurred at 6:07 p.m. near30th Street and 7th Avenue, at 6:16 p.m. near38th Street and 14th Avenue and at 6:18 p.m. near 20th Street and 5th Avenue.No serious injuries were reported as a result of the incidents, according to Rock Island Deputy Police Chief Jeff VenHuizen.
Police received a 911 call shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday from a man in the area of 20th Street and 5th Avenue in Rock Island who claimed his vehicle had been rear-ended, according to Deputy Chief VenHuizen. Information regarding the two other incidents was not available on Tuesday evening.
Officers soon located Mr. Edgcomb in the area of 17th Street and 10th Avenue, according to an arrest report. He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested, police said.
Mr. Edgcomb also was found to be in possession of a crack pipe and a number of pills that were not prescribed to him, according to Deputy Chief VenHuizen.
