Frederica B. Peterson, 91, formerly of Orion, died on Oct. 27, 2012, at her home in Gainesville, Fla.
She was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Hannibal, Mo., to John and Mable Brown. She attended Culver Stockton College, where she met her first husband, Mark Gannon. After his death she married Robert Peterson.
Frederica worked at numerous jobs during her life, including bail bondsman, milliner, Budget Car Rental owner, and apartment rental assistant manager. She retired from full-time employment when she was 83! She will be remembered for her quick wit, creativity, poetic skills, and sense of humor, determination and wisdom. During her life she was active in her church and community. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge and any word game that came her way. She did all crossword puzzles in ink.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Bloomberg Beshore (Eric), Melrose, Fla.; her son, Kerry Gannon (Joann), Orion; her stepson, Kent Peterson (Christine), Plymouth, Minn.; her stepdaughter, Joan Peterson Klimstra (Dick), Quincy, Ill.; her grandson, Mark Gannon (Erika), Mesa, Ariz.; granddaughters, Erica Bloomberg Johnson (Rob), Gainesville, Brook Bloomberg, Manhattan, Kan., Heather Gannon Stringer (Jamie), Chicago, Robin DeDecker, Rock Island, Denise DeDecker Purcell (Scott), Milan, Jodi DeDecker Bubar (Gary), Marissa, Ill.; six stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mark Gannon and Robert Peterson; daughter, Sandra Gannon DeDecker; son, Shawn Gannon; and stepdaughter, Sue Peterson Brackevelt.
