Starting on Monday, November 12, 2012, 27th Avenue will be closed to thru-traffic at its west
intersection with 11th Street. This closure is due to the work being done on the 11th Street
Pedestrian Access Project and is required to reconstruct the intersection to make it more
pedestrian friendly. Normal traffic will resume after the work is completed in approximately
2 weeks.
27th Avenue traffic will be detoured to 25th Avenue between 9th and 11th Streets during this
closure. Please follow construction signs for directions and detours. Motorists should watch for
trucks entering and leaving the construction zone.
The City of Rock Island is sorry for any inconvenience due to this road closure and appreciates
the patience and consideration of the traveling public.
