Press release submitted by Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center
Donor & A Movie Blood Drive
Friday, November 23: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 24: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
At the Putnam Museum (in the Palmer Lecture Hall)
All donors who present at this blood drive will receive a ticket to the movie of their choice at the National Geographic Giant Screen Theatre at the Putnam.
In addition, anyone who donates blood with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center on either November 23 or 24 will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card.
Most important, donors who give blood over the Thanksgiving weekend (and every day) will be touching the lives of people right here in our community. Each donation helps as many as three patients in need. A blood fact: Platelets, once of the components of a blood donation, have a shelf life of only 5 days. A 4-day holiday weekend means we need donors to come in on Friday and Saturday to assure a strong blood supply, including platelets, during and after the holiday weekend!
Donors may call me at 563/823-4128 to sign up. They may also log on to www.bloodcenter.org to schedule at appointment for this blood drive, as well as a donation at one of our local donor centers. Walk ins are welcome; appointments are preferred to assure a timely donation process.
