Mercer County voters unseated board chairman Maxine Henry of Keithsburg in Tuesday's general election.
Ms. Henry received 577 votes, or 28 percent, in District One behind incumbent Jeff McWorter, 787 votes and George Howard, 684 votes.
Ms. Henry's defeat, along with five other incumbents failing in their bid for reelection, brings newcomers Gary Gregg from District 2. Mr. Gregg ousted incumbent Floyd Utz by a small margin of 40 votes.
Larry Stone and Ted Pappas from District 3 bested incumbents Ron Fullerlove and Dave Maynard by slight margins. Mr. Fullerlove garnered 748 votes and Mr. Maynard earned 744 votes to Mr. Pappas's 791 votes.
In District 4 Daniel Schroeder is the newcomer with Fred Rooth the lone incumbent running in that district betting the majority of votes with 798.
Other incumbents retaining seats on the board are Dr. Brian Anseeuw, district two and Bill Olson and Tom Haines from district five.
One of the new board's first actions will be deciding which of each district's members will complete a two or four year term due this year's redistricting.
