Bob Evans to donate up to $25,000 to local charities to provide Farmhouse Feasts to needy
Columbus, OH (October 18, 2012) – The holidays are a special time to gather with family and friends. While preparing for potlucks, office parties, family meals and more, don't stress – Bob Evans has you covered. The Bob Evans Farmhouse Feast is the perfect solution for any holiday meal.
Knowing that this holiday season will be tougher for some, Bob Evans is collecting donations at all 565 locations for local soup kitchens, shelters and other agencies that support those in need within the community. Bob Evans Farms will match these donations up to $25,000. The money raised will be used to purchase Farmhouse Feasts for those local hunger-relief agencies.
"We believe in helping our neighbors in need and we know that's important to our customers as well," says President and Chief Concept Officer of Bob Evans Restaurants Randy Hicks. "This effort gives back locally to the soup kitchens, shelters and other agencies that support the people in need within the communities our restaurants serve."
The program started as a grassroots effort by restaurant teams two years ago, when employees used funds donated by customers to buy Farmhouse Feasts for local charities. After hearing about these local efforts, the corporation wanted to help in a larger way. The $25,000 match that Bob Evans is donating will be distributed across all Bob Evans restaurants to provide Farmhouse Feasts for their community hunger relief partners.
The Bob Evans Farmhouse Feast is a complete holiday meal to go. Just take it home, heat, serve and enjoy. The Farmhouse Feast serves up to eight, and comes complete with choice of a slow-roasted whole boneless turkey breast or sliced boneless ham, bread and celery dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, buttered sweet corn, green beans with ham, cranberry relish, rolls, a loaf of pumpkin bread and a pumpkin pie with whipped topping all for less than $10 per person. The Farmhouse Feast allows families
to enjoy a wholesome, delicious holiday feast without all the worry, time consuming preparation or heavy duty post-meal clean-up.
"The Farmhouse Feast is delicious, fully prepared and totally convenient," says Hicks. "We'll even carry it to your car for you! What's best, it's a great value for families who would rather spend time with each other than in the kitchen during the holidays."
The Bob Evans Farmhouse Feast is $74.99 and serves eight people. For larger families, additional servings of turkey or ham, bread, savory sides and desserts may be added a la carte. The Farmhouse Feast is available throughout November and December for all holiday entertaining.
And this year, Bob Evans introduces a NEW! Farmhouse Feast to serve four. This Farmhouse Feast is the perfect way for a smaller group to enjoy that wholesome Bob Evans goodness that guests know and love. For $44.99, they'll enjoy sliced slow roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes & gravy, bread & celery dressing, green beans with ham, buttered sweet corn, cranberry relish, six rolls and a whole pumpkin pie with whipped topping.
