Voting underway in Scott County
Comment on this story
Absentee ballots are now available for the Nov. 6 general election in Iowa, according to Scott County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Roxanna Mortiz.
To handle the anticipated initial rush of voters, Ms. Moritz will set up voting in the first floor foyer of the Scott County Administrative Center, 600 W. 4th St., Davenport. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Voters also may request ballots be mailed to them by calling (563) 326-8631 or using a form available online at scottcountyiowa.com/auditor. Completed forms should be returned to Auditor's Office, 600 W. 4th St., Davenport, IA 52801.
Because this election is the first since the redistricting process, many voters may find their precincts and voting locations have changed. Davenport, Bettendorf, Eldridge and LeClaire all have new precincts and many changed voting locations. Much of rural Scott County and many smaller towns also were affected.
Earlier this year, all active voters were mailed new voter registration cards listing the correct voting locations. Polling places are listed online at scottcountyiowa.com/auditor, and voters may call (563) 326-8631 for polling place sites.
