Fulton Fall Festival ….."From the River's Edge"

Fulton, Illinois - The Fulton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce plans for the Fulton Fall Festival on Saturday, October 6 in downtown Fulton and October 6 & 7 at Heritage Canyon. Most activities in downtown Fulton are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events at Heritage Canyon are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

In conjunction with the city's 2012 tourism theme, River Connections, the Fall Festival committee has chosen the theme "From the River's Edge." Two programs have been added to this year's schedule of events to compliment the river theme. A presentation by Living Lands and Waters is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. and a wildlife program by Clinton County Conservation at 3:00 p.m. Both presentations will be held at the Masonic Lodge in downtown Fulton.

Activities for the entire family will be held all day long and include inflatable rides, petting zoo, train rides, pumpkin painting, games, clowns/balloon artists, a hay bale maze by Second Reformed Church, make n' take crafts by Smitty's Welding Service and other children's activities by DHCU Community Credit Union and Cadogan Chiropractic.

Food will be offered by a few vendors and many downtown restaurants will be open. The Fulton Fire Department will be providing a cook-out and Friends for Charity will be selling BBQ pork sandwiches. The Rosebud Mission Team and River Bend Athletic Boosters will also be sponsoring bake sales.

Performances at the Main Stage Area include the Fulton High School Show Choir at 11 a.m., Jennifer's Dance Studio at 11:30 a.m., Millennium Martial Arts at 12:30 p.m. and the Camanche Twirlers at 1:30 p.m.

Schmaling Memorial Library will have a children's story hour and craft at 10:30am. The Fulton Police Department and Fulton Fire Department will host a Public Safety Day including free children's ID kits, vehicle displays, fire truck rides and demonstrations at the River Bend Senior Center from 11am to 1pm. A fall plant sale by the Rosebud Mission Team will also be at the River Bend Senior Center from 8am to 11am.

An arts and crafts show will be held on Saturday, October 6, in downtown Fulton and vendors still have time to sign-up with the Fulton Chamber of Commerce. The cost for a booth space is $35.

A classic car cruise-in is scheduled from Noon to 4pm at the corner of 4th Street & 13th Avenue. The cost to participate is free, but participants are asked to sign-up by calling Bill Weber at 309-644-0126.

Both Denny O's and Johnnie's Tap will be hosting beer gardens and bands. Denny O's will host two bands, Three Men Pitching a Tent from 4pm to 9pm and Creamery Road from 9pm to 1am. The Dirt Road Rockers will be performing at Johnnie's Tap from 6pm to 10pm.
