Cambridge Tractor Show and Ag Day celebrates 175 years of John Deere in Cambridge
The 2012 Cambridge Tractor Show and Ag Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 in Heritage Park in downtown Cambridge. The feature tractor this year will be a John Deere tractor owned by Bryce Wells, Milan, IL. This is the 175th year of John Deere and the Cambridge Tractor Show and Ag Day are going to celebrate!
Set up and registration for tractors and exhibitors begins at 6:30 a.m. with everyone in their place by 8:30 a.m.
Included in this years show are Tractors (antique and newer), Pedal tractors, Lawn and Garden tractors, Hit and Miss Motors, Semi Tractors and Farm Trucks.
Registration for Kids and Tractor games will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with games to begin at 11 a.m. All participants in the games must have an armband to participate this year.
The 0-3 Pedal pull will be held first with a random winner being drawn to win a scooter/ride-on tractor donated by Russ Reed Commodities, Cambridge, IL.
The 3 and over Pedal pull will be held following with a winner receiving a Pedal Tractor donated by Terry Bennett of Pioneer Seed Company, Cambridge, IL.
The 10-70 age group Pedal pull will be held next with the winner of the random drawing winning a large John Deere tractor and cash prize.
Following the Pedal pull, Tractor Games will be held with 5 different games. Some of the games will have 3 different categories.
A breakfast will be held at the Cambridge American Legion in downtown Cambridge...and the Cambridge American Legion will also do an opening ceremony for the day with a Flag Raising Ceremony at 9 a.m. in Heritage Park.
Food stands will be held throughout the entire day by the FFA Ag Alumni, 4-H, and the Cambridge Historical Society.
There will be 1/2 hog raffles (with processing included) and 15 other raffle items available to win that day with the purchase of raffle tickets.
A 50/50 drawing will also be held with proceeds to benefit Ron "Trog" Spence of Cambridge who was injured in a car accident on Dec. 31, 2011, and is now rehabilitating. Trog is a great friend to the Cambridge Tractor Show and Ag Day!
Very unique tractors and semi tractors will also be on display during the day.
