Albert D'Angelo, 93, of Hampton, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline, with a liturgy service at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.

Albert was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Naples, Italy, son of Tito and Isolina Dellalena D'Angelo. He married Lena Cardone on April 28, 1946, in New York.

Albert worked at Waldbaum's in New York for 20 years and later moved to East Moline and was a manager at Geifman's, retiring in 1984. Albert served in the United States Army from the beginning to the end of World War II. Albert was an infantryman and participated in many notable battles. He was an artist who loved to use charcoal and pencils to sketch faces, landscapes, people and movie stars. Albert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hampton and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lena D'Angelo, Hampton; daughters, Naidine D'Angelo, Port Byron, Karen (Ron) Donnell, Hastings, Fla., Lori (Lance) Carlson, Wyoming, Mich.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Yolanda Gentile.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Joseph, Nicholas and Hugo.
