Fredrick K. "Kenny" Erickson, 60, of Silvis, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in his residence.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Burial is at Rock Island National Cemetery, where Vietnam Veterans of America Post No. 229 and Patriot Guard Riders will present military honors. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 1839, Silvis.

Fredrick Kenneth Erickson was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Moline, to Frederick Edwin and Ruby Opal Jones Erickson. He married Anna DeMink on March 20, 1976. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a molder at the Rock Island Arsenal Foundry for over 35 years, retiring July 31, 2011.

Kenny was vice president of the Eagles Lodge in Silvis, and a member of Vietnam Veterans of American Post No. 229. He loved motorcycles, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, yard work, gardening and anything outdoors.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Anna; daughters, Amy Swanson, East Moline, Stacia Erickson, Rock Island, and Kendra Sowell and her husband, Joseph, Silvis; five grandchildren, Morgan, Keenan, Cameron, Kowen and Ava; Felicia Canaday, who was like a daughter to him, and her children, Trevor and Vanessa; his mother, Ruby Opal Erickson, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a brother, Christopher Erickson, Carbon Cliff; a sister, Sheila Lang, Lawrenceville; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy DeMink, Moline. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Marty Erickson.
